Almustashara Satellite Television Channel is the brainchild of Iraqi-born, international barrister, Samantha Kane, who immigrated to the UK in the mid-1970s, where she obtained various university degrees in the fields of media and law.  She remains in practice as an international human rights lawyer and commercial arbitrator, and Head of Holland Park Chambers, working alongside barristers specialising in all aspects of civil and English common law.

In the last twenty years there has been mass emigration from the Arab world to the UK and the rest of the world.  Once settled, they faced and continue to face a very real need to know their rights and duties in their host country; in addition to the need within the Arab world itself for various legal reforms and education against all manifestations of violence and discrimination, particularly against women and members of minority groups.  It is hoped that the channel will help bring light to dark issues.
